R2c
Three-way centre channel
Built to match any of the R Series floorstanders the R2c delivers the dialogue that brings movies to life in your home.
The R2c's 125mm (5 in.) midrange and 25mm (1 in.) aluminium dome tweeter Uni-Q matches the rest of the range perfectly. Twin 130mm (5.25 in.) bass drivers deliver the dynamics that great movies need.

THE SCIENCE OF SOUND

Very Clear, Lacks BassThis speaker has very clear dialogue and sound effects. The treble and midrange, blend seamlessly with my R3 Left/Right speakers. However, the small drivers lack bass. I have had to move to a 100hz crossover to try and fill the gap with my sub. I came from a q650c, and although this speaker is more clear than that one, it doesn't have the large scale and impact that speaker had. next refresh of KEF R series has to have a bigger center!

Lack in BassI've purchased the R2C and R11 in Dec 2021. I will go over the positives and negatives.
Positives:
-Beautiful speakers, one of the best-looking speakers I've seen hands down. I get nothing but
positive comments as to how great they look.
-R2C produces one of the clearest sounding speakers I've heard out of many speakers in this
price range. From my standpoint, I feel like the dialog is happening in real life.
Negative:
-The R2C is lacking in some serious bass. I don't know if it needs more power or if the R2C
needs bigger drivers but the lack of bass is really killing it for me with these speakers. By
matching it with the R11s I can clearly hear the lack of bass with the centers.
My next attempt is to buy an external amp to drive the center speaker to see if anything changes. I hope that fixes the issue that I'm running into. I hope this review helps anyone who is interested in these speakers.Posted on

LackingHeard the R2c at several stores, was looking at R11 or 7’s for home theater setup but not at all thrilled with the R2c, please KEF make a better center channel, maybe larger drivers. Love KEF speakers just not happy with this center.
