SIR TERENCE CONRAN
Made for each other
A new wave in sound
The people’s designer
In a long and celebrated career, Terence Conran didn’t merely change the rules of design, he created a whole new game. After studying textile design, he set up a workshop in the East End of London in the 1950s and in the years since, the Conran Consultancy has stood at the vanguard of design democratisation.
Fuelled by a passion for the modern movement and its benefit to society, Sir Terence’s astonishing breadth of work, encompasses everything from furniture to product design, restaurants, architecture, fabric, fashion, retail and literature.

Partners in design
Conran’s trajectory from disruptor to stalwart of British design in some ways mirrors KEF’s own path. So when it came to designing the KEF Music Gallery in Hong Kong it was his team’s uniquely exhaustive approach that we sought. Successful partnerships demand mutual respect and throughout our relationship, KEF and the Conran Group have established precisely that.
