Building on previous successes, including the Lotus Emira sports car and the Lotus Eletre electric Hyper-SUV, this bespoke sound system addresses cabin acoustics and transforms how drivers and passengers experience sound.

How It Works
The innovative headrest features speakers positioned close to the occupants' ears, allowing for a unique binaural audio experience. Unlike traditional systems that rely on headphones, KEF’s technology fires sound directly at each occupant, creating an enveloping 3D sound landscape. The headrest's acoustically transparent 3D lattice permits sound from KEF’s Uni-Q drivers to pass through unobstructed, while its flexible structure cradles the head for optimal speaker positioning.
Smart Features For Enhanced Listening
One of the standout features of the Binaural Audio Headrest is its use of smart materials that can detect head position. This capability enables adaptive binaural rendering and crosstalk cancellation, providing each occupant with an individualised sound experience. The headrest can produce futuristic sound effects that complement the concept car’s performance, while a force-cancelling subwoofer generates powerful bass without unwanted vibrations in the cabin.
